Some one else put this link up ........and THIS WAS THE REASON I GOT A GLOCK I was dumfounded at how durable those things are! they are not the pretteist but if it ever comes down to it do you think you are gonna wonder about looks??

I dont doubt other guns can stand up to that type of toture test but this was the first one I ever saw and it was down with a glock.

That was enough to sell me

For those of us who hate gLocks but still want a pistol just as reliable (some argue more so) I present,
XD tourture test:
http://springfield-armory.primediaou.../SPstory11.php

We've got 3 XD's in the house. never a single malunction using everything from winchester white box to crappy wolf and +p hollowpoints.

My worst 'tourture test' was about 450 some odd rounds, 150-200 were wolf, 150-200 were winchester white box, 50 remington UMC and 50 were hollowpoints towards the end. Not really a tourture test but I'm getting too old and ammo too expensive to run more than that thru a gun at the range in one sitting.

I can't wait man.. I'm sitting in legal limbo right now. I submitted my "pistol permit" to the state back in late October and am still waiting for approval.

But I already have an XD45 waiting for me at the safe at my local gun store (part of the requirement for applying for permit was to submit the serial #'s for a gun who want to own, and you cant get serial #s without purchasing one.... its such a cluster**** here)

Here is a couple of quick vids that show the Glock's reliability. I own both of these Glock/92FS and I was very surprised. But it does seem that Glocks are susceptible to limp-wrist problems so keep a firm grip.

*to be fair the Glock is a C (compensated) model that allows gas to escape out of ports/vents along the top of the barrel near the front sight. Would like to see it done with a regular model or a .45 acp.

Those test look okay.......but what is the purpose of a limp wrist test?? Is that to somehow imply if I got hurt or something??

Help me out here.

DAM that is fricken insanity!! how can a shop "hold" a gun before you even purchase it?? That gun is shop inventory and the state is "forcing" a shop to just hold it?? What if you dont get it? You get shafted and the shop looses because they cant make a sale. THAT IS FRICKEN INSANITY!!

Cluster*****k would be a understatement.

I pulling for you though when you get it let us know.

Almost any automatic is capable of jamming if held too loosely...especially if the pistol has a lightweight frame like the Glock, etc.

Not sure what the "limp-wrist test" proves...

To shoot any auto, hold it firmly (not a death-grip) and lock the wrist...slowly squeeze the trigger--not jerk or stab it.

FWIW My wife was shooting her new Sig P226 andit was having some FTE problems... I watched her and it was due to 'limp wristing'. She'd been shooting her XD (and springfield EMP) all day without issue. A slightly better grip eliminated any further problems.

I think it's important to note that 'limp wristing' is dependant on the gun and shooter. Some guns are more prone to it, especially those with heavier recoil springs. My wifes been shooting since she was a child and on this particiular day was right on with everything. It's also equally important to note that a grip thats worked on other guns may not be enough for a different one.

I couldn't totally get the concept of 'limp wristing' when I was a starting out shooting, I can't wtach the videos at work, but to 'limp wrist something' doesn't have to be as dramatic as the name suggests.
